Are you still being affected by something that happened to you in your past?

  • Intrusive memories or thoughts

  • Body aches, chronic muscle or joint pain and fatigue

  • Struggle to sleep, feeling too wound up or bad dreams

  • Decline social invites & avoid doing things

  • Overwhelmed in crowds or with people you don’t know really well.

  • Feel on edge or on guard

  • Have moments when all of a sudden an awful feeling comes over you and you’re back in that bad moment

  • Feeling disconnected, “spacing out”, or even feeling numb.

It’s hard to understand that all of these things that are happening may be completely common responses to really negative or traumatic events, either you witnessed happening or personally experienced.

With my support you can:

  • Heal and move on from your past.

  • Find relief from your trauma responses.

  • Feel more in control and learn how to stop spiraling thoughts and feelings from taking over.

  • Feel better about the choices you’ve made and make better choices for yourself and your loved ones.

Trauma is usually associated with witnessing or experiencing a terrifying or life threatening event but complex trauma is often more subtle in nature and easily overlooked. A combination of any of the below can create complex trauma.

Heal from trauma with EMDR & ART

In order to understand how EMDR & ART work, we must first look at how trauma impacts the mind and body. When our body enters fight, flight, or freeze following a distressing experience, our brain tries to protect us by holding onto images, sensations and thoughts that were experienced during the distressing event.

EMDR & ART helps to make sense of the traumatic moments experienced. Click the link below to learn more.

Through Expressive Arts Therapy you and I can create a safe space for exploration and growth

Expressive Art Therapy allows you a way to gain self-awareness through self-discovery, self-exploration, and self-expression. It provides you ways to tap into your inner-world of subconscious thoughts and feelings. This form of therapy usually works best for people who are not artists, because the focus is not on artistic outcomes but rather on the process of creating.

Expressive Art therapy includes the therapeutic use of nature items, painting, drawing, crafts, body movement, writing, listening to music, movies, and other creative activities to help clients express themselves. Through art and expression, your unique life-experiences can be understood, communicated, and transformed so that deep healing can occur. It’s especially helpful for tapping into early life experiences that you may find difficult to talk about.

I offer expressive art therapy groups and workshops, to assist my clients with stress reduction, pain management, symptom reduction of anxiety, all of which contribute to increased feelings of well-being and improved mood.
