Questions about what it’s like to work together

Here are some of the most common questions I get from clients about therapy.

If you don’t see your question answered below , contact me.

  • My office is in Greenland NH, minutes from Portsmouth and US 95. The address is 1 Bayside Road, Greenland, NH 03840. I am on a second floor so stairs are required.

  • Online therapy is provided through a secure and confidential program similar to Zoom called Simple Practice. If we meet online I will send you a link on the day of your appointment.

  • Yes!! I have limited sessions available in my office. If you’re able to travel to my office you will benefit from all the effective, engaging and creative ways I offer to support therapeutic change.

  • I accept Blue Cross Blue Shield and Anthem Blue Cross. If you have a different insurance I can provide you with form that you can send to your insurance for Out-Of-Network (OON) benefits. If you are able to pay out of pocket then my fees are $180 for 45 minute sessions and $200 for 55 minute sessions. I use an online HIPAA complaint program to charge your credit card for any session or copay costs, unless you give me cash or check if in person.

  • Our first appointment will be where you share information about your life, so that I can learn about you as a person and we can determine the areas that you need to gain support.

  • Everyone is unique and requires different types of support and has a different timeline to find healing. Some clients come in with very specific concerns and goals and move through a brief course of treatment; 8 to 10 sessions. Other clients needs are more complex and therapy can span several months or more.

  • A lot of people are very overwhelmed with the idea of choosing what they're going work on with their therapist. The beauty of having a therapist is that you don't need to make decisions alone. In our first few sessions I will be getting to know you and then explain what I believe would be the best treatment focus for your needs. We will collaborate and decide together.

  • It’s true that EMDR has been found to be more effective in supporting healing for many people. Each person is unique and will have different past experiences and challenges, which will impact how quickly you will see positive results. I always focus on supporting my clients to learn coping skills to manage their stress and anxiety symptoms as soon as possible so that we can then move onto the more specific work needed to provide you an opportunity for sustained improvement.

  • Yes I have several different ways that have been found to be very effective. It’s best if you have a computer you can meet online however, if you only have a phone to meet we can use some ways to still do EMDR and ART.

  • Yes I have successfully utilized Expressive Art online, however, you will need to be able to purchase or gather the supplies needed. Reach out for more info.
